Une belle histoire de famille

Hôtel des Sports

In 1934, Morzine inaugurated the Pleney cable car that could only be taken for walks and for vue of the Alps, keeping the ski for the reassuring meadows of the valley.

It was just before the war that Andrée and François Passaquin decided to transform the family farm into “l’hôtel des Sports”, one of the first establishments to welcome tourists in Morzine.

Sadly the hard period that followed forced them to close until 1945 when they could finally devote their time to welcoming holiday makers.
François, who’s profession was a carpenter, had it in his heart to show guests the warmth of wood and would continually maintain and renovate the hotel whilst Andrée, who was a skilful couturiere looked after the interior.

Their son Claude learnt to become a chef and quickly joined them and took over the affair with his wife Christiane in the 1980’s.
They renamed the hotel “Le Sporting”. Loving good taste and beeing clever with wood working Claude carried on improving and developing the hotel and Christiane brought in her own touch to the decoration and her devotion to welcoming guests.

It is with great pride that I now take over the family affair helped by my husband Frederic a chef, that my father has known how to pass on the art of local craft so that we can continue to develop our establishment and offer our guests the garantee of an unforgetable stay.
